Gluten Free Soft Pretzels (air fried)
Growing up with Celiac Disease meant I missed out on trying a lot of fun food BUT, we can scratch soft pretzels off the list!
Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups gluten free flour
1 egg
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tablespoon yeast
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons baking soda
2 tablespoons coarse salt
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine honey, warm water, and yeast. Let sit for 3 minutes
add 2 cups of the flour, and baking powder. Beat until well combined.
add egg. mix
add remaining flour and mix until a moldable dough forms
cover with plastic wrap and set aside to rest for 10 minutes
cut into 6 portions
roll each portion into a 14-17 inch coil
form into a pretzel shape by forming a U shape, crossing the ends across each other towards the bottom of the U shape, and twisting once around each other (see pictures)
repeat with remaining dough
fill a small saucepan with water, add baking soda
bring water to a boil
boil each pretzel for 30 seconds, flipping if necessary
sprinkle with salt immediately after removing from the water
place into the basket of an airfryer
cook at 390 degrees for 6 minutes
